Breckenridge Defensible Space Law is Repealed

Recently, I sold a beautiful 5 bedroom premier vacation and rental home, in Christie Heights, Breckenridge Colorado, to my fun and cherished clients from San Francisco, CA.  Situated off Ski Hill Road on the way up to Peak 8, this home is close to the Gondola, right on the bus route, next to the Nordic Center and easy to get to everything Breckenridge has to offer.  By the way, if you are interested in renting this awesome home click here:   http://www.breckenridgebyowner.com/index.cfmpage=moreinfo&pid=172&LID=1   Anyway, the town of Breckenridge had proposed a new law that would have required my Buyers, as well as other homeowners in the Town of Breckenridge, to cut their healthy and unhealthy trees within 30 feet of their home. Naturally I was concerned for all of my clients, friends and business associates, that they would incur a very large bill to meet the requirements of this proposed law. Fortunately, the citizens of Breckenridge put together a petition which resulted in the law being repealed.  Great job to the citizens of Breckenridge, on making it clear that mandating the removal of all these trees is not the answer.  While it is very important that we protect the homes from fire danger, some areas, like Christie Heights, have healthy trees and there is no reason to cut them down.   Perhaps letting the citizens and owners of the homes, within the subdivisions of concern with dead trees, vote on their own solutions would be a better idea. There is sure to be other solutions out there at any rate. For the whole story on the repeal click here:http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20090729/NEWS/907289967&parentprofile=search.
