Garage staging tips

I know we can forget about the garage as it is not an area of the house we spend much time in, but it is still an important room to stage. Cleanliness should be a priority. Garages are not typically clean places so a clean garage implies to a potential buyer that you take above average care of the interior. A clean garage also shows larger than one that is full of clutter. Strive to keep the garage as empty as possible, again giving the illusion of being larger. Check the condition of the floors, if they need to be cleaned a power washer and some soap can make a huge difference. Another great idea to freshen up the floor is to purchase and epoxy based floor coating.  Freshen up the paint and make sure there are no holes in the walls and that outlet covers are in good condition. A great way to add storage to your garage is to purchase some used kitchen cabinets and simply re-paint them to bring new life back into them.

Remember home staging is about making your house show its true and full potential and this can only be attained if every room shows its best. Potential buyers will remember a garage that is clean and large looking. These easy to follow and in-expensive tips could set your home apart from the competition.
