Hazy Summit County
Summit County residents awoke to hazy skies on Monday, August 31st, a sight rarely seen in our high altitude environment. We are lucky enough to have very low relative humidity in Summit County, usually ranging between 20-40% in the summer months. Meteorologists credit the hazy skies to the wildfires burning to the west, in California, Utah, and southwestern Colorado, adding particulates to our skies. They also predict lower temperatures this week to hopefully contain the burning areas. 9news predicts that the weather patterns will begin to change this afternoon and skies should be clearing up later in the week.
