Loveland has bragging rights for being the first ski area to start up its lifts. This is the earliest opening for Loveland in 40years. A basin is not far behind however with a scheduled opening day of Friday. Last year the two resorts tied and the two years prior to that A basin got bragging rights. The mountain plans to open @ 9am with an 18-inch base. Loveland will have chair 1 running to reach one run which will consist of the Catwalk, Mambo and Home Run trails. A basin will open Friday @ 9am also with an 18-inch base. While it will not have any beginner skiing it will open with the High Noon trail which is an intermediate run as well as some skiing in the terrain park.
