Local resort leaders speak on condition of the ski resorts

 

Wednesday night brought together the four Summit ski resorts and Loveland executives to give a quick talk on what's happening at their respective resort.  Most stated that there were not any big capital expenditures but money was spent on behind the scene and routine maintenance.

The two Vail resorts are working together to streamline there operations and resorts.  They are working on offer consistent products from the ski and ride schools to food and beverage.  The resorts will be offering a "bargain" lunch for $9.95 every day that will consist of the special of the day which includes a beverage.

Keystone has completed the ski-pedestrian bridge from the base of the River Run area to the gondola; this will help move skiers up the mountain quicker.  Keystone has also improved there grooming feet to offer a consistent product and get back to what Keystone has been known for. 

Breckenridge has completed work on the re-grading of Chair 7 on Peak 8 so you will not have to climb the big hill to access this chair.  Along with the re-grading they added a retaining wall to the Kid's Castle which should give the kids an even better place to play and learn.  Breckenridge real estate at the top of the gondola is still selling and there are some units available. 

Loveland Ski Ares had their best ever year last year as opposed to the other areas which were down.  Loveland said that last year was a perfect storm for them with great snow fall and people looking for a more economical ski adventure. 

Arapahoe Basin is continuing to work on improving parking and purchased 2 shuttle busses to move guests from the parking lots to the base area.  They also improved some of the runs in Zuma bowl.

Copper Mountain has spent a lot of time and effort on the new Woodward Training Camp where kids of all ages can train for the extreme in a safe environment.  They took this a step further this summer and had an on the hill training camp to complement the indoor camp. 

This is all exciting news and should help get everyone excited for the upcoming season.
