Mold?

So you have finally found the house of your dreams and today is inspection day. You meet the inspector at the home with high hopes. Suddenly your dreams are crushed, the inspector tells you he has found mold in the house. You are left wondering now what to I do.

First let's start off by defining mold: mold is a simple microscopic organism that thrives anywhere there is a moist environment. Mold can begin to grow within 24 to 48 hours after a moisture problem arises. It reproduces by spores that travel through the air and digests organic materials. This digestion is what will eventually lead to it destroying the material that it grows on. Once this happens it will spread to and destroy other organic materials close by. Mold will continue to grow and thrive until the proper steps are taken to remedy and kill it.

That leads us to step two, call a licensed mold remediation expert and have them come and take a look. While the inspector can look at it and tell you it exists it is important to have an expert asses the damages. Mold damage can range from very minor to huge, requiring extensive work. So while you may be thinking it is time to scratch this house and start from square one that is not always the case. Talk to the Mediator and ask their opinion. Mold can cause sever health problems as well as damage to a home so it is important to be sure the problem is addressed.  Below are a few of the local companies you can contact with your mold problems:
