Rail makes sense for the State of Colorado and the I-70 mountain corridor.

The Colorado State Legislature has created a new division of transit and rail to CDOT to be more focused and strategic in planning a more diverse transit system between Denver and the Mountains.   The work of this new division is to integrate the Rail and programmatic study for the I 70 mountain corridors that would help bring the focus to a complete transit system and away from a highway only focus.  This is good for the mountain communities that are along the I 70 corridors to help alleviate the “weekend traffic” that can have people spending 2 to 3 times their normal commute time just to get back to Denver.  It should also help with the parking congestion and local traffic problems and impact on the high mountain environment.  For more information please read the article from the Summit Daily News. http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20090831/NEWS/908309987&parentprofile=search
