8 Ways To Quickly Boost Your Energy Levels
8 Ways To Quickly Boost Your Energy Levels
One of the great secrets to boosting your energy is taking action. Just by simply changing something in your life and doing something different you’ll increase your energy flow. Action gives you energy.
Sometimes we get bogged down with situations, habits, or people that drain our energy. What can you do? Begin by committing to spend time doing things that support your goals. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, and avoid situations and people who drain you. In addition, here are 10 quick steps you can take today to boost your energy:
1. Take A Daily Power Nap. Taking a short 20-minute nap when you’re feeling tired can give your brain a rest and invigorate you...and a short power nap won’t keep you up late at night.
2. Make a List of Things That You Like Doing. You can ramp-up your personal and professional energy level by focusing your attention on what you like doing. Motivation increases energy.
3. Take A Walk. Taking a 10-minute brisk walk will increase your energy level up to two hours, reported California State University researchers. Experts say increasing your physical activity whether it’s swimming, running, dancing, or biking will boost your energy level.
4. Eat Healthy Meals and Take Vitamins. Eat a balanced diet and take vitamins with minerals to ensure you’re getting all the nutrients your body needs. Also, make sure you’re getting enough magnesium (300 milligrams) by eating almonds, cashews, whole grains, bran, and fish – particularly halibut.
5. Turn Off The Negative News. Reduce your daily diet of negative news (TV, newspaper, radio, the Internet), which can cause additional stress and fatigue. Focus your attention on the positive things happening in our world, and in your life.
6. Watch A Funny Movie. Think about how you feel after you’ve watched a really funny movie, or had a big laugh. Laughing is good for your heart, reduces stress, and increases your energy.
7. Pump Up Your Fluids. Even a little dehydration can leave you feeling tired and lethargic. Pour yourself a tall, cool glass of water.
8. Get a Good Night’s Sleep. Make sure you get sufficient rest, which, for the average person, is eight hours. Keep your sleep area dark to reduce any disruptions. A good night’s sleep goes a long way to keeping your energy level high.
Lake County Airport Sees Big Improvements
Lake County, home to the highest airport in North America, has undergone $4 million of improvements in the past year. In hopes of attracting more commercial and corporate traffic, improvements have been made to hanger space, round the clock fueling and a GPS to make landings safer. This is just another step in bringing back a sleeper of a town from near ruin. The bottom dropped out when the Climax mine closed in the mid-‘80’s. This area is a great investment for the future though if you are looking for growth in your real estate portfolio.
Colorado Mountain College May Offer Four Year Degrees
A bill is moving forward in the legislature to allow CMC to offer four year degrees. Right now CMC only offers Associate’s Degrees. This will be a big plus to people who live in the mountain communities or those planning to come and receive higher education while enjoying our fantastic lifestyle. The resort communities offer great opportunities to live, work and go to college because of the large variety of jobs and job schedules available. The fact that the ski resorts offer housing as part of their employment packages and many companies will help pay for education costs are added benefits to students. The possibilities are numerous for those who love the mountains like we do. Degree offerings have not been decided but education and resort management are atop the preliminary list.
With all the choices in today's market, how do you go about finding the right home?
It's important to visualize your needs and plan ahead. Know what you want in a home, what's important to you, and what you can live without. Many of us start out with a champagne taste and a beer pocketbook, so it's important to be realistic.
Where and what you buy will affect you for as long as you live in the house. Get your priorities in order before you start looking or even talk to a real estate broker or sales associates.
For first-time home buyers this is a new experience, so it's especially important to do your homework. If you currently own a home, you know exactly what's lacking. You may need another bedroom or bathroom, or a good school nearby.
First, decide where you want to live. A big part of the answer hinges on where and how you earn a living. If your job requires a lot of reading or is quite stressful, public transportation may offer valuable time to sit quietly. Regardless, you should practice the commute in rush hour before you make a commitment. A seemingly quiet road can transform into gridlock during peak hours.
People with children have other major considerations: school and safety. If you plan to send your children to private schools, you can live where you want assuming you can easily arrange transportation. On the other hand, a lavish public school system may indicate high local real estate taxes. Check them out.
Obviously, lifestyle is an important consideration. People who frequently dine out, go dancing and attend the theater probably belong in the city or a close-in suburb. In other words, make sure you're in close proximity to the things that matter most.
It used to be that homes came in a limited variety, but today, you have many choices. In addition to the traditional single-family home, you can buy a townhouse, condominium or apartment condominium or co-op.
In planned unit developments (PUDs), you can find almost any combination. In condos and other such communities, make sure the rules and regulations, as well as the by-laws, match your lifestyle. This type of housing is great for people who want to own their own space without being responsible for mowing the lawn or repairing the roof; a management company handles that.
On the other hand, you'll pay fees for these services. In addition to checking the documents and financial soundness of the homeowner's association, you must determine if the monthly fees are worth the services and additional amenities such as a swimming pool or exercise room.
Affordability can be a factor not only in the type of housing, but whether it's new or an existing home. Old houses often have fine woodwork or interesting nooks and crannies not normally found in new homes. They generally sit on landscaped lots with mature trees and grown bushes.
New homes may cost more, but you can make many more decisions on amenities, colors, carpeting and fixtures. Make sure you're dealing with a reputable builder, and have an attorney review all documents.
Selecting a real estate professional is an important first step in beginning your search. Ask for personal recommendations to find an individual who is knowledgeable about the neighborhood and has access to the local Multiple Listing Service. Make sure you feel confident about his or her knowledge and skills, and understand the business relationship that you have established between you. Co-Borrowers Can Get the Tax Credit Too
The IRS has spelled out guidelines for eligibility for the home buyer credit when co-borrowers purchase a property.
If you are single and buy a first-time home as a part owner, you can claim the full credit as long as you qualify for the credit.
For example: If you are a single person who qualifies for the credit and you have a co-signer or co-owner, such as a parent who does not qualify, you can still claim 100% of the credit says the IRS.
The IRS says the parent doesn’t qualify for any portion of the credit, but if the child hasn’t owned a home during the three years preceding the current purchase and can qualify based on income, he or she can be allocated the entire $8,000 credit.
When unmarried individuals co-purchase a home and only one of them is eligible for the credit, then the full $8,000 can be allocated to the eligible buyer.

Interesting Tidbit!
The last month has seen sales of existing homes increase by 7.4% over October, which is a 44% faster pace than a year ago. Sales were up in every region of the country and all 20 of the largest metro areas with the exception of Las Vegas. In the west sales were up nearly 11%! Additionally, inventory of homes on the market has dropped 16% from a year ago.
Mortgage rates continue to stay at or below the amazing 5% level. This may not last forever and forecasters are predicting a modest increase to about 5.25%. This is still an attractive rate. Low interest, low prices and motivated sellers have made this the most affordable market in history.
